Finally, the Basic Sequence courses are good indicators to help students choose the technical components they would like to focus on during their final semesters. Second, the Basic Sequence courses are designed to help students determine whether Electrical and Computer Engineering is the right major for them before they get too entrenched into the curriculum. First and foremost, these courses provide students the knowledge they need to be successful in the engineering courses they will take in theTechnical Component. The courses that make up the Basic Sequence within the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering serve many purposes. In the junior year, students will select areas of specialization based on their interests and career goals. All three programs have a common two-year basic sequence for first- and second-year students to focus on the fundamentals of electrical and computer engineering. The Electrical and Computer Engineering program is pending ABET accreditation. Effective Fall 2022, Texas ECE is offering a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Texas ECE offers a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with the option of two ABET-accredited programs of study: Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering.
